Brand Spanxing...You?
Spanx: What’s up these things anyway? First Oprah says she swears by ‘em and then, the other day, my friend Charlotte, a size 2 sopping wet, tells me she lives in them.
If you’re as clueless as I was, they’re like tummy control pantyhose, and they come in versions with and without feet. The feetless kind stop mid-calf. I get that: you can wear them under pants and longer skirts. But what’s the big deal about the kind with feet? And why are they better than plain old control top pantyhose?
Spanx fans: what gives?

Spanx have more control then control Top Pantyhose. They smooth lines, hide bumps and can make you a whole dress size smaller. The only way to know the difference Spanx make is to try them. I'm a size 24 and live in them.
I've been everything from a 2 to a 6 (when we're not counting pregnancy and post-pregnancy sizes, which don't count), and I've had Spanx for years. The footless ones are just awesome. Added to that, they're just flat out comfortable in a way that pantyhose rarely are. So, if you're going to wear pantyhose, why not wear GOOD pantyhose?

I love spanx! I discovered them through my roommate--great under formal dresses and suits. Size irrelevant. I think they give you more confidence and better posture.
I should also plug my love for the Spanx Power Panty. They, like the footless spanx, fit like pantyhose, but only go mid thigh. The great thing about them, is that you don't get the line like you would with normal shapewear. It's like you aren't wearing anything at all, and your body just happens to be perfect. They are GREAT for shorter skirts, capri's, long shorts, or if you just don't like the feel of pantyhose all the way down.
OK! You've convinced me! So, now where do I buy them - any major department store? Or better yet, Walmart or Target?
I like Assets (they do the same thing as Spanx) because they are much cheaper. You can get them at Target.

I really don't get this whole bandwaggon thing with spanx. Is it because Oprah wears the? who cares what she wears? Are they so much different then a good brand of control shaper pantyhose? I wear reinforced panty and toe. not sure if that is comparable to spanx but I certainly would never pay 20 dollars for a pair of hose regardless of whether they cover my feet. I prefer reinforced panty/toe hose and so does my boyfriend.) He thinks my toes are sexy in hose...and I think they are too!!!! :)
